Sessions are 75 minutes

Fees are self-pay:

$250/ session for individuals

$275/ session for relationships and families

Session fee applies to cancellations less than 48 hours in advance

Monthly superbills are provided for insurance reimbursement

Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is an experiential form of therapy, similar in process to play therapy, eco-therapy, and art therapy. Sessions emphasize a slow, mindful pace at which you can be with yourself, be with the horse, take space to have an experience, and process with me the insights and discoveries that flow from that experience. Some clients use this for regular weekly therapy and some enjoy it as a supplemental somatic treatment that supports their regular talk therapy.​

Sessions are held at Shadow Hills Riding Club, utilizing their amazing (and adorable!) stable of trained therapy horses. Treatment is entirely ground-based (never any riding) and rooted in the EAGALA model of equine-assisted psychotherapy, integrating mindfulness exercises with activities like grooming, walking the property, or guided interactions in a gated pen.​

Horses are deeply empathetic and intuitive animals, expert at reading body language, intention, and emotion. They are also masters of co-regulation, assisting you in balancing your nervous system and increasing your capacity for mindfulness and groundedness. 

 

The horses' natural therapeutic abilities coupled with the spaciousness, embodied nature, and relational focus of the EAGALA approach makes this work particularly beneficial for healing anxiety, depression, body-based discomfort,  PTSD, and attachment wounds. For groups and relationships, it fosters cooperation, communication, vulnerability, and greater intimacy.
